OCTOBER TECHNICAL UPDATE

On October 9, 2025, our technical team completed layup on the foam scale model. They plan to begin working on printing paper slices of the actual car as well as building the wooden platform for the car.

The team finished the carbon fiber layup by cutting the carbon and peel ply to the right size, planning out the order on placing the carbon down. Then, we applied resin on the mold to stick the carbon on. We stuck the carbon on in sections so that it was very organized, making the layup process smoother. After we finished making our way around the mold, we moved on to a second layer, repeating the process. There is resin in between every layer of carbon fiber and after it is finished, we put peel ply on the top of the second layer. The peel ply absorbs a lot of excess resin and once the layup was dry, we took it off.
